UNITED CHURCH of CHRIST
Dates to Remember
Jubilee UCC walking For Your Health
We would like to start a walking group at Jubilee UCC. We hope for at least two-three days a week (as a group, we can settle on time) and for a central location (we might change locations with driving distance in mind for all walkers).
As Winter is upon us, we are aware that there are indoor trails and Malls to explore. Also, don't be concerned about keeping up. We are interested
only in a healthy pace for everyone.
In the next few days, please let one or both of us know if you are interested in joining us. In the past few weeks, we took a few walks at Allen
Pond in Bowie and at Lake Artemesia in Berwyn Heights/College Park -- a couple of pretty scenic walking paths. Please feel free to suggest other
walking areas if you're interested in walking in a group.
Thank you and best regards,
Laura (email: firstname.lastname@example.org) and
Sharon (email: email@example.com)

Update on Jubilee Service Sunday
US Census Bureau
Your response matters.
Health clinics. Fire departments. Schools. Even roads and highways. The census can shape many different aspects of your community.
Ways To Respond
There are three ways to respond to the 2020 Census.
By April 1, 2020, every home will receive an invitation to participate in the 2020 Census. You will have three options for responding:
In mid-March, households will begin receiving official Census Bureau mail with detailed information on how to respond to the 2020 Census.
When can I respond to the 2020 Census?
Invitations to respond to the 2020 Census will be delivered between March 12-20. Once you receive that invitation, you can respond online, by phone, or by mail.
Video Guide to Completing the 2020 Census
Different Timelines and Processes for Some Locations
If you live in the following locations, there will be some differences in your timeline for completing the 2020 Census or in the ways you can respond:
The U.S. Island Areas (American Samoa, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands).
Very remote areas, such as parts of northern Maine and Alaska.
Areas that experienced a natural disaster.
Group living arrangements, such as on-campus student housing, correctional facilities, military bases, health care facilities, and shelters.
For some people, it's not clear how they should count themselves or the people in their home. These circumstances may include:
People who live in more than one place.
People who are moving on Census Day (April 1, 2020).
People who are born or die on Census Day (April 1, 2020).
People experiencing homelessness.
For more information, visit Who To Count.
We hope you are well and continue to follow CDC guidelines to prevent Covid19.
As you are aware there is a push to get back to normal routines even though the virus is still very active in our communities. Jubilee is first and foremost concerned with everyone’s safety and that is our priority. Pastor Roberts and your Church Council are looking ahead and working to ensure that all necessary safety protocols will be in place before we gather again in person. Even though the State of Maryland and the county’s in which you live say we can now shop in retail stores, sit down in restaurants, go to movies/nail &hair salons/barber shops, and gather in churches – Jubilee will use CDC recommendations and common sense, along with all church members and attendees input to decide when we will worship in person again.
Your church leadership has discussed sanitizing all areas of the church before service, on site hand sanitizer, requiring face masks of all attendees, moving sanctuary seating to meet social distancing of 6 feet, no gathering at the front of church for altar prayer, no walking to receive communion cups, no sharing or preparing food for consumption at the church, no choir, no unattended children in bathrooms, no walking to give or collect offerings and all other situations which will keep us safe. Keeping this in mind, if all these safeguards and requirements are in place, would you attend In Person Worship as of the first Sunday in July (July 5, 2020)? Please reply and give us your thoughts. We are in this together.
Also, are you interested in having a congregational prayer call by Zoom, possibly on Thursdays?
And lastly, but most importantly, is there anything the church can do to assist you in this current crisis? Jubilee wants to know that everyone is ok and have all basic needs to get through this period of uncertainty.
We have highlighted the three areas that we hope you give us input on. Remember that we are the church and everyone has a voice.
Here are a few other items to share with you:
The church website now has a camera icon which will take you directly to the virtual worship service page.
Virtual worship service can now be seen on YouTube. Type JubileeUCC Youtube in your browser.
Virtual worship service can now be seen as early as 9:00am on Sunday morning.
More than likely we will continue broadcasting our service online after we resume gathering in person.
Peace and Blessings,
Pastor Roberts and Church Council
